News-Gazette (July 6) – Dr. Rebecca Bishop, who is completing a residency in equine surgery as well as pursuing a PhD, received a $20,000 scholarship from the P.E.O. Sisterhood, an international organization that supports educational opportunities for women. “There can be a lot of things that cause a horse to show signs of colic. I find it really satisfying because the horses come in feeling quite sick and painful, and at the end of the day, we can get them feeling better,” said Dr. Bishop, whose doctoral studies include researching treatments for colic.
