Biography

Dr. Hsiao, also known as Vincent, re-jointed the University of Illinois Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory as an anatomic pathologist in 2011. He is a veterinary graduate of National Taiwan University in Taiwan. He completed his PhD/residency training program in our Pathobiology Department in 2005 and remained at the Diagnostic Laboratory as a diagnostic pathologist till 2007. Vincent returned to Taiwan to accept an Assistant Professor position at National Chia-Yi University and, in 2008, National Taiwan University specializing in farm animal medicine. During that time, his research focused mostly on bovine mastitis, bovine tuberculosis, paratuberculosis, caprine arthritis-encephalitis and porcine respiratory disease complex working towards developing herd-based and national-level control strategies against the diseases. He currently provides diagnostic services for food, companion, zoo and laboratory animal clients with a special interest in toxicologic diseases.
