Saliva-based COVID Tests vs. Nasal Swabs

Scientific American (March 28) – Whereas nasal swabs can be somewhat unwieldy for everyday use, “it’s fairly easy to provide a saliva sample repeatedly,” says Rebecca Lee Smith, an infectious disease epidemiologist at UIUC and a scientific advisor for the program that developed covidSHIELD.
