Marine Mammal Diagnostic Service Received Federal Grants

NOAA Fisheries (March 22) – Competitive grants awarded to the the Marine Mammal Diagnostic Service by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have supported the creation of a new diagnostic test for Brucella and an advanced necropsy training workshop for the Hawaiian Monk Seal Research Program. “This funding enables our program to provide rapid testing for important marine mammal pathogens increasing our understanding of the role that disease plays in pinniped populations,” said Dr. Katie Colegrove.
