WICD-TV (Aug. 11) – “We’ve seen a major influx in parvo cases coming through the emergency room recently. Unfortunately, sometimes we have seen litters at a time affected with this disease,” said Dr. Erin Long, a University of Illinois veterinarian & lecturer in emergency and critical care. Parvo is a viral disease that attacks the GI system and bone marrow. It mainly impacts puppies who aren’t yet fully vaccinated but can affect older dogs who are unvaccinated.
