Work Schedule:

Students would be on call for shifts consisting of:

Scheduling is flexible, but students are required to be on call for shifts weekly and will be required to be available some holidays and breaks (Thanksgiving / Christmas / Spring Break/ Summer Break throughout the year).
This position will require signing up for shifts on a monthly schedule.

Assistance with Large Animal Surgery OR for after-hour surgeries. Surgeries include equine and farms patients

.Shaving and prepping patients before surgery
Setting up the operating room for surgery
Function as an unsterile circulating assistant to retrieve and open sterile instruments
Clean operating room/supplies used after procedure is done
Record supplies used in surgery to appropriately charge client for used items

Must be actively enrolled in veterinary curriculum and attending classes at the University of Illinois or Parkland Pathway program.
Must be comfortable getting called during early morning hours and/or weekends.
This position will require signing up for shifts on a monthly schedule.
Students must have reliable transportation to and from the VTH, and is expected to arrive to the VTH within 30 minutes of being called in for an emergency.
