State Legislation Pushes for Harsher Penalties for Animal Abuse

WCIA-TV News (Feb. 6) – Dr. Caroline Tonozzi, head of the ER/ICU service in the University of Illinois Veterinary Teaching Hospital, has seen a lot of hurt animals. “I’ve seen a range of things from the neglect of being left outside in bad weather to things being shot at or buried or purposefully harmed,” said Dr. Tonozzi. The segment ends with an update on the recent abuse case of a dog later named Dory, who is participating in a 5K sponsored by a College of Veterinary Medicine student club later this month.
