Veterinarian High Volume Spay/Neuter Surgeon – Chicago, IL – #8260
We have a position open for a skilled veterinarian spay/neuter surgeon to lead a high-volume shelter in the Chicago area. This role focuses on performing and overseeing high-quality sterilization surgeries for owned and shelter animals while mentoring and training the surgical support team.
You will also oversee the low-cost vaccine clinic.
With no on-call or overnight shifts, this is a hands-on surgical role in a mission-driven environment.

We perform over 17,000 surgeries annually and aim to grow that number even higher.
This position is ideal for a veterinarian who is passionate about surgery and animal welfare. You’ll have the support, equipment, and team needed to excel while making a tangible difference in reducing pet homelessness.
(Salary: $156,000 – $200,000. Salary may be negotiable)
Qualifications:
DVM/VMD from an accredited veterinary school
Licensed (or eligible) in Illinois
2+ years of experience performing high-volume spay/neuter (30-40+ surgeries/day)
Expertise in anesthesia, pain management, and post-op care
Strong leadership and mentorship skills
Commitment to animal welfare and accessible veterinary care
