Life in Tucson
With 350 days in the sunshine, it is no surprise that Tucson’s nickname is the “City of Sunshine.” Tucson is situated in the heart of the Sonoran Desert, known for its distinctive flora and fauna. Saguaro National Park, located on the outskirts of Tucson, is named after the iconic Saguaro Cactus which can reach impressive heights of up to 78 feet! The park offers hiking trails and scenic drives, providing an opportunity to experience the beauty of the desert landscape, especially during sunset and sunrise. The city of Tucson itself offers a pleasant mix of cultural and natural attractions, but it is primarily the warm, dry climate that attracts people to the area. Tucson is home to spectacular museums, historical sites, and great shopping and dining. For a taste of contemporary Tucson, spend some time at the galleries in the Catalina Foothills district. For historic Tucson, make sure to explore the city’s historic downtown with adobe buildings, vibrant street art, and a lively arts scene. Tucson has much more to offer than these few highlights, so make sure you check this destination off your list. You just might find you’ll never want to leave!
