WCIA-TV (April 16) – Spring can be more dangerous than peak summer for canines, because they aren’t as acclimated to the heat. Dogs at highest risk include “our young dogs, our old dogs. And then it classically comes in our more overweight dogs … and the ones with the really short noses,” said University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign veterinary emergency and critical care resident Dr. Brent Von Schaumberg.
