WIRF-TV News (Rockford, Illinois; Jan. 7) – A wildlife expert says bird flu has been in North America since 2021, but now the concern is spreading beyond birds to other animals. “It’s not unusual or surprising that were seeing these cases again,” says Stephany Lewis, the director of University of Illinois Wildlife Medical Clinic. “The concern is that we’re seeing it just affect a wider variety of species, including more domestic species.”
