Get to Know Dardi Miller

When did you begin working at the College of Veterinary Medicine?
I began working in IT at the College of Veterinary Medicine in March of 2015.

Describe your role at the college.
Currently, I am VADDS IT support in the Veterinary Diagnostic Lab (VDL).

VADDS is a veterinary diagnostic laboratory information management system utilized by the lab.

Have you held any previous titles or responsibilities at the college?
I started in 2012 at the University of Illinois Springfield and then moved here in 2015. In 2018, I started as the Veterinary Teaching Hospital health information systems support and transitioned to the VDL in 2020, where I am now.

What is your favorite part of your job?
The awesome people and animals I get to work with and that every day brings something new.

…Just one?  Too many to have just one.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Hanging out on my patio (and pool when I can) with family and friends. 

What is something your co-workers may be surprised to know about you?
I am nana to two grandsons, five step-granddaughters and seven step-grandsons, although I hate the word ‘step’.  I love them all and they keep me busy!

What is one thing on your bucket list?
I would like to have a second home in Florida so I can summer here and winter there.

Do you have a favorite restaurant or place in the Champaign/Urbana area?
Lake of the Woods in Mahomet.

Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?
Music

Do you have any pets?
I have two cats, Onyx and Jade, a 21-year-old albino corn snake named Cooties, and two nine-month-old bernedoodle puppies, Bella and Daisy Mae, that were born on my birthday last year.
