We’re Growing

Join our team of four boarded internists and help us grow into our exciting new minimally invasive capabilities. 

We are looking to add a Small Animal Internal Medicine faculty member to accommodate an increasing interest in minimally invasive techniques. The internal medicine service is positioned to significantly advance the practice of small animal medicine over the next several years.

The successful candidate will join our faculty in providing clinical service and clinical and didactic teaching of professional students, residents, and interns, as well as contributing to the scholarly mission of the College, through independent research efforts. Percent time dedicated to research, teaching and clinical service will be based on the successful candidate’s career goals and the needs of the department.

Today, we see a robust caseload with a solid referral base using state-of-the-art equipment in our newly renovated facility. Our four excellent faculty members thrive because of our talented and experienced technicians. Minimally invasive capabilities are ready for use, and we are seeking skilled individuals that will maximize the use of these facilities.

Internal medicine has well-established courses throughout the veterinary curriculum in didactic and clinical education.

Hospital resources include state-of-the-art diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical equipment. Our service enjoys a large and varied caseload of patients that need a range of expertise.

  • Urology and nephrology

Special capabilities in the internal medicine service include:

    • Endoscopy
    • Interventional radiology, including tracheal stenting
    • Radioiodine therapy

Special interests include:

    • Blastomycosis
    • Chronic renal disease
    • Diabetes mellitus
    • Feline hyperthyroidism
    • Infectious disease
    • Inflammatory disease
    • Liver and gallbladder disease
    • Respiratory disease
    • Small intestinal and pancreatic disease

We’re Investing in Our Programs

A $12 million hospital-wide renovation and expansion project wraps up this year. Over the past six years we’ve added:

  • A 9,000 sq ft small animal surgery wing with 8 ORs, including an interventional radiology suite
  • A state-of-the-art linear accelerator and a new 128-slice CT to support its use
  • A 3T MRI
  • A new facility for small animal primary care, zoological medicine specialty service, and our Wildlife Medical Clinic
