March was an action-packed month for Illinois veterinary students. They hosted the international symposium of the Student American Veterinary Medical Association (SAVMA) from March 16 to 19. More than 900 registrants participated in opportunities to learn, socialize, and build leadership skills.
Many Illinois alumni and college faculty served as speakers or exhibitors at the event. Illinois student Max Paulson was installed as national SAMVA president.
On March 19, third-year veterinary students attended the White Coat Ceremony to celebrate their transition into the fourth-year of clinical rotations.
March is also when our fourth-year students complete their clinical rotations and enter a six-week “professional development” period before graduation.
Please join us in congratulating the students who will be engaged in clinical services in the coming year and thanking our soon-to-be graduates for their contributions in our hospital over the past year.
