Science (Aug. 3) – In an article calling for a “radical shift in testing strategy” to adequately contain the coronavirus pandemic, Rebecca Smith, an epidemiologist at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, says, “we need fast, frequent testing,” which could mean faster versions of existing RNA tests or new kinds of tests aimed at detecting viral proteins.
