Using 10 words or less, describe what your role at the college is:
Teaching anatomy to the first-year veterinary students.
What is your favorite part of your job?
First and foremost, like every teacher, I love watching the “aha” moments when a student finally understands something. On a more personal level, I love knowing that I am playing a part in providing the world with excellent veterinarians who will go out into the world and improve the lives of animals.

Halloween day 2012, Sherrie Lanzo and I dressed up for lab. I was a car and Sherrie was roadkill. The students loved it. It was the first day that I thought, “Wow, with coworkers and students like these I can see working here the rest of my life.” I fell in love with my job that day.
What would your coworkers be surprised to learn about your life outside of work?
Oh, goodness, this is a hard one. While I haven’t had time in a while to take her out, I trained my female hound dog, Charlotte, to be an HRD dog (human remains detection). We were really close to getting certified but then I started grad school. We still go out every now and then and play “Find the Ghost” and my dog just loves it, and is really good at it.
Do you have any pets?
There is a running joke in my family that I run the Lynch Family Zoo. I have two cats and two dogs, all four of whom are rescues. My husband and I care for two saltwater fish tanks full of fish and coral. Then I have a fresh water fish tank, a Betta fish tank, and three Chinese fire belly newts.
