Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory

The Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory provides diagnostic medical testing to assist veterinarians and public officials in identifying and controlling disease conditions affecting animals, animals industries, and public health. It tests for infectious agents, toxins, and other causes of disease in animal diagnostic samples submitted by veterinary practitioners serving animal owners, public officials associated with public health, law, or wildlife management, and scientists with collaborative research projects. The laboratory also provides collaborative research support on the University of Illinois campus and assists in the training of veterinary and graduate students.

Please note: Clinical pathology samples are accepted between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday in Room 1137 of the Veterinary Medicine Basic Sciences Building (not in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital).
