Job Overview
Join our veterinary team as an Associate Veterinarian specializing in mixed or small animal care (your choice!) You will be providing veterinary services to a rural community with local and committed owners. We are a fast-paced environment that values proactive animal care, continuous learning, and team collaboration. This position will offer a chance to grow professionally while making a meaningful difference in the lives of pets +/- livestock and their families.
Clinic overview
Northside Veterinary Clinic has been serving the Taylorville community since 1958. We are a privately owned veterinary practice. At NSVC, we believe in culturing an environment that is family friendly, safe and encouraging for our staff members.
NSVC is a primary care prioritizing routine animal care, sick pet same day appointments, dentistry and soft tissue surgery. We service dogs and cats primarily, while Dr. Shelby sees rabbits, cattle, sheep and goats additionally. We are open to expanding our species list if there is a right fit veterinarian that is interested in other critters!
We have in house diagnostics available with blood and urinalysis machines, digital radiology, ultrasonography, PRP, therapeutic laser and surgical laser. We also utilize Idexx reference laboratory for consultations and send out testing.
Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Package
No on call or emergency hours
4 day work weeks, 2 hour lunch breaks. Doctors very rarely are past 5pm even finishing up daily records. OR PART-TIME

Qualifications
• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
• Illinois state license to practice veterinary medicine or ability to obtain prior to starting
• Illinois state controlled substance license or ability to obtain prior to starting
• Active DEA license or ability to obtain prior to starting
• Ability to practice standard of care medicine with a positive, friendly and respectful attitude.
