Elkhorn Veterinary Clinic offers a 1-year internship in equine and farm animal medicine aimed at launching new veterinarians into successful careers. Interns receive exceptional mentorship, a supportive work environment, and a competitive salary. Seven experienced veterinarians will provide diverse perspectives and guidance, rooted in a clinic culture that values family, boundaries, and work-life balance.
The structured program covers all aspects of equine ambulatory care—including preventive medicine, dentistry, lameness, internal medicine, reproduction, and emergency services. Additional training includes farm animal medicine (primarily small ruminants and camelids, with some beef and dairy cattle, and potbellied pigs) and some exotic species. The current caseload is 75% equine, 20% farm animals, and under 5% exotics.
