When did you begin working at the College of Veterinary Medicine?
2019.

I’m a certified veterinary technician for the Zoological Medicine Department. I help obtain bloodwork from multiple different species, maintain anesthesia, fill medication, and many more things throughout the day.

I started my CVT career in ER before transferring over to Zoo Med.

What is your favorite part of your job?
Providing the best care for my patients and educating our students and owners on how we can achieve that.

Complete this sentence: My most memorable day at work was…
… November 3, 2019. That was the day “Dory” presented to our ER cold and unresponsive. A kind citizen was out fishing that day and came upon a dog trapped in a cage in the middle of the water. As soon as he got her out of the lake, he rushed her to the ER as a stray that was in need of medical care.

On arrival she was so cold that none of our thermometers would read. She was so cold and weak that we weren’t sure what her outcome would be. After aggressive heat support and fluids Dory perked up. You would think a dog that suffered such a horrific act would be terrified of all of us that were working around the clock to give her a fighting chance; however, you would be wrong. Dory greeted all of us with kisses and tail wags.

The man that found her gave her a chance at life and love. The day Dory left our hospital officially adopted by her founder was a day I will never forget. Our doctors, students, and CVTs worked so hard and provided the best care for Dory, and nothing was more awarding than watching her excitement the day she went to her new forever home.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy spending time with my family and reading.

What is one thing on your bucket list?
To see the northern lights.

Kohinoor.

Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?
My ChapStick.

Do you have any pets?
I have two dogs, Charli and Hannah, and two cats, Flash and Binx.
