Winterize Your Pet with Tips from Pet U
While you may be prepared with sweaters and shovels for the approaching winter's icy temperatures and snow, bitter weather conditions also pose dangerous threats to your pets.Pet U presents a class entitled "Winter Safety for Pets," taught by Dr. Kandi Norrell on Monday, November 9. The class will address specific concerns related to winter, including frost bite, medical conditions that are aggravated by cold weather, and other seasonal hazards.

Class sessions, taught by University of Illinois Veterinary Teaching Hospital faculty or staff, area veterinarians, or experts in the field, will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the second Monday of each month, October through May, at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital located at 1008 West Hazelwood Drive in Urbana.
Pet U, coordinated by the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and the Companion Animal Resource Education (CARE) Center, offers a series of carefully thought out classes designed to show pet owners relevant ways to maintain and improve their pet's health.
