Symposium Honors Contributions of Dr. Wanda Haschek-Hock
URBANA - On Monday, May 4, the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine will host a mini-symposium in honor of retiring faculty member Dr. Wanda Haschek-Hock. The event will begin at 10 a.m. at the Veterinary Medicine Basic Sciences Building, 2001 S. Lincoln, and will feature speakers in the veterinary profession from the private sector, the University of Illinois, and other universities nationwide.Dr. Haschek-Hock has been a faculty member at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine since 1982, serving as head of the Department of Veterinary Pathobiology (now Department of Pathobiology) from 1994 to 2001, among various other roles. She has over 30 years of experience in veterinary medicine, and has had over 100 articles on pathology and toxicology published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Dr. Haschek-Hock was awarded the Society of Toxicologic Pathologists lifetime achievement award in 2007, and is currently president-elect of that organization.
The event recognizes Dr. Haschek-Hock as A Pioneer Toxologic Pathology Education and Research. Speakers will address Dr. Haschek-Hock's specific contributions to the field and trace the evolution of toxicologic pathology over the years.
