"Howl at the Moon" Promises Family Fun, Support for Wildlife
URBANA, Ill. - Go ape with a night of family fun at the movies and support your local wildlife at the same time.The third annual "Howl at the Harvest Moon" will be held on Saturday, October 4, at the Harvest Moon Drive-In, 1123 South Sangamon Avenue, Gibson City. (That's on Route 47, 20 miles north of I-74.) Gates open at 6:20 p.m.
This fundraiser for the University of Illinois Wildlife Medical Clinic welcomes the whole family, kids and pets, young and old. (Please keep dogs on a leash.)
At 7:20 p.m. enjoy Space Chimps,, computer-animated comedy (rated G) following the descendants of the first chimps in space as they blast off for fun and adventure on a far-away plane.
Tickets are $5 per person. Kids age 5 and younger get in free! All ticket sales benefit the Wildlife Medical Clinic. The movie will show even if it is raining or snowing.
The Wildlife Medical Clinic is a not-for-profit organization run by volunteers (mostly veterinary students) and supported by tax-deductible donations from the public. The Wildlife Medical Clinic treats more than 2,000 animals each year and is staffed 24 hours a day. Injured and ill wildlife cases (except skunks and bats) are never refused.
