I started working here in June 2014.
Describe your role at the college.
I am primarily a research assistant professor, focusing on research involving corneal healing and alternatives to improve corneal health. I also instruct students during the anatomy lab.
Have you held any previous titles or responsibilities at the college?
Internships and PhD.
What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of the job is that I can integrate research and teaching. As an introspective person, working in a quiet environment is crucial for my productivity, but I also appreciate interacting with students and colleagues.

…completing my PhD during the COVID lockdown. It was challenging to keep my research going while the world had stopped!
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I love spending time with my family, but apart from that, I enjoy everything water-related: swimming, lakes, beaches, canoeing, etc.
What is something your co-workers may be surprised to know about you?
I used to swim professionally before starting veterinary school.
What is one thing on your bucket list?
I want to visit Greece.
Do you have a favorite restaurant or place in the Champaign/Urbana area?
I like the Curtis Orchard & Pumpkin Patch. It is a cozy place with plenty of cats to play with, plus delicious donuts. I also enjoy the Lake of the Woods for its good walking trails.
Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?
Exercise. Weightlifting is what I enjoy the most.
Do you have any pets?
Yes, we have dogs: Zoe (11 years old) and Chokito (2 years old).
