Rehabilitation Service Adds Shock Wave Therapy

Working with our rehabilitation specialists can help your patients with improved postoperative recovery, improved quality of life, and restored activity level and function.

All new patients will receive a full physical exam, including both a neurologic and orthopedic exam, plus baseline measurements to help develop a personalized therapy plan. One session of therapy and an at-home program are also included at the initial visit. If needed, additional outpatient therapy sessions will be scheduled.

In addition to aquatic therapy, land treadmill, local cold and hot therapy, soft tissue massage, PROM, therapeutic exercises, ultrasound and laser, cart and/or wheelchair fitting/adjustment, and weight management, our rehabilitation service provides the following treatments:

  • Extracorporeal shock wave therapy: Non-invasive with no need for sedation and safe to use in conjunction with all other treatments. Provides results lasting 12+ months. Information about this therapy can be found here.
  • Pulsed signal therapy: Non-invasive, state-of-the-art technology for a variety of conditions as a stand-alone or adjunct treatment. Information about this therapy can be found here.
  • Chiropractic: Non-invasive diagnosis and treatment of vertebral subluxation complexes and dysfunctional joints of the spine and extremities. Animals of almost any species and age can receive a chiropractic adjustment for conditions such as hip dysplasia, osteoarthritis, intervertebral disc disease, and degenerative myelopathy.
  • Biological injections: Platelet-rich plasma (PRP), a non-surgical treatment used to help osteoarthritis and tendon/ligament injuries.
