A Message from Dr. Barger and Dr. Whittington

The Veterinary Teaching Hospital and Department of Veterinary Clinical Medicine are working tirelessly to recruit and fill critical positions.

Searches are underway for faculty positions in Small Animal Surgery, Emergency and Critical Care, Small Animal Internal Medicine, Anesthesia, Diagnostic Imaging, Anatomic Pathology, Small Animal Primary Care, Livestock Production Medicine, and Equine Primary Care.

Additional searches and interviews are being scheduled for opportunities in Shelter Medicine, Surgical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Cardiology, and Dentistry.

We have new faculty starting soon in Medical Oncology and Diagnostic Imaging.

Veterinary nurses continue to be critical to our patient care team. This month we launched a Veterinary Technician Externship Program to provide experiential opportunities to students from training programs around the state. Currently, we are interviewing candidates for veterinary nursing positions in Emergency and Critical Care, Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Equine Medicine and Surgery, Neurology, Shelter Medicine, and Oncology.

The reason we have such a large number of open positions is because we are growing, and we remain committed to delivering high-quality and comprehensive veterinary care and a transformative and collaborative education while also advancing healthcare through discovery.

If you or someone you know is interested in joining our team, visit go.illinois.edu/VetMedCareers.

We’d love to hear from you!

Julia K. Whittington, DVM Assistant Dean for Clinical Service Director, Veterinary Teaching Hospital

Anne Barger, DVM, MS, DACVP Head, Department of Veterinary Clinical Medicine
