DVM360 (June 12) – Dr. Todd Sumerfield, a cardiology resident at the University of Illinois, was one of 15 residents recognized for their research abstracts by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) at the ACVIM Forum 2026 in Seattle, Washington. The winners, selected in various specialty categories, each receive a $1500 cash prize as well as $1500 in travel support for their attendance at the 2027 ACVIM Forum in Montreal, Canada. Dr. Sumerfield’s abstract was titled “Feasibility of blood speckle imaging for visualization of left ventricular diastolic vortices in dogs.”
