Ambassador Turtle in Iowa Continues Recovery from Surgery

Our Quad Cities (April 30) – “Oneida the ornate box turtle is doing well as we enter the month of May. As of last week, she has successfully taken her first bath since surgery,” according to an update from Nahant Marsh Education Center in Davenport, Iowa. In March doctors at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign College of Veterinary Medicine removed a bound egg and also spayed Oneida at the same time to prevent her from becoming egg-bound again.
