WAND-TV News (April 7) – Yoga4Cats, a cat rescue in Decatur, Illinois, has its own trap-neuter-release (TNR) program. Dr. Laura Frazier, director of pet population control and community medicine at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, partners with programs like this one to give veterinary students training and experience with TNR. “Not only are we fixing the [pet overpopulation] problem now, we’re fixing it in the future by creating a new generation of veterinarians that is very skilled surgically,” Frazier said.
