Class of 2026 Spotlight: What is the Best Advice You Received During Veterinary School?

On May 15, the 145 members of our Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Class of 2026 will formally graduate and recite the Veterinarian’s Oath

We invited them to share their memories, plans, or advice and the responses we received are below.

Colleen McDonnell

“The best advice I received was that it’s a marathon where consistent hard work is how you finish strong.”

Nina Pasquini

“Find the joy in the tough moments. Veterinary school is one of the most challenging times in your life, but at the same time, you’ve worked so hard to get here. Remember to take the time and try to appreciate everything you are learning and experiencing. You are on the journey to becoming the doctor you always wanted to be!”

Michael E. Rodriguez Cameron

“You don’t need to have everything figured out, just don’t stop moving forward. Stay present and enjoy the moment.”
