Daily Illini (May 10) – Rachel Dorney, CVT, small animal soft tissue and surgical oncology clinical coordinator in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, and veterinary student Becca Chenoweth launched Illini Kitten Club, a student‑run organization dedicated to neonatal care, fostering, and hands-on veterinary training. Members of the club regularly attend lunch lectures where they discuss varying topics surrounding the nuances of neonatal care for dogs and cats. They also participate in wet labs where they assist in the operating room, birth newborn puppies and kittens and resuscitate them.
