The urgent and convenient care service re-opens at our Veterinary Medicine South Clinic on September 12. The goal of the service is to provide the veterinary referral community with an alternative to sending their clients to an emergency clinic when they are unable to see a canine or feline patient with a non-life-threatening, yet urgent, medical need.
- Patients will be assessed and treated as indicated, and their owners instructed to return for follow up with their primary care veterinarians.
- If patients are found to have more complex conditions requiring advanced surgery, hospitalization, and/ or intensive care, they will be transferred to the small animal emergency service within the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and may be subsequently transferred to an appropriate specialty service.
The urgent and convenient care service is located at 2100 S. Goodwin Ave. in Urbana. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 10 am to 6 pm. The phone number is 217-244-2555.
