Diagnostic Laboratory Houses Campus COVID Testing

Chemical & Engineering News (Nov. 1) – UIUC’s veterinary diagnostic laboratory … was already set up for COVID-19 work—it had tested samples from the Bronx Zoo and found that one of its tigers was COVID-19 positive. That made it relatively straightforward to certify the lab under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) statute, a legal prerequisite for any lab offering diagnostic testing for humans in the US.
