Dates to Remember

  • Thursday, 4/25: Last day to place on-line orders for academic attire until 10:59 p.m. CT. to take advantage of the early order discount.
  • Tuesday, 4/30: Last day to register for the University-wide Commencement ceremony.
  • Friday, 5/10: College of Veterinary Medicine Convocation Ceremony, Foellinger Great Hall at KCPA, 500 South Goodwin, Urbana, 3:00 p.m.
  • Friday, 5/10: Dean’s Reception at the College of Veterinary Medicine at 5:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, 5/11: University-wide Commencement Ceremony at Memorial Stadium at 9:30 -11:30 a.m.
  • Saturday, 5/11: President’s and Chancellor’s Reception at The President’s House from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

2024 COLLEGE CONVOCATION CEREMONY

Our ceremony will be on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. CDT in the Foellinger Great Hall at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets will be required for entry.

Eligibility to Participate

Convocation is not a certification of graduation, but rather a ceremony that celebrates your academic achievements. You must satisfy all of your degree requirements before you officially graduate and receive your diploma. You are eligible to participate in both the university-wide Commencement and the college convocation ceremonies if you have graduated since August 2023 or December 2023 or expect to finish your degree requirements by May 2024.

University Campus-wide Commencement Ceremony (Memorial Stadium)

The university-wide Commencement ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 9:30 a.m.

COMMENCEMENT WEBSITE

College of Veterinary Medicine Convocation Ceremony (Veterinary Medicine Basic Sciences Building)

This event is only for the College of Veterinary Medicine graduates and is scheduled for Friday, May 10, 2024 at 3 p.m. in Foellinger Great Hall, Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. The ceremony last about 2 hours.

Arrival Time and Location

Graduates should arrive at 2 p.m. and report to the Choral Rehersal Room on the third-floor basement level of Krannert.

Announcements for graduates can be ordered through Herff Jones, the Illini Union Bookstore, or a copy shop of your choice.

Honor Cords

Phi Zeta Members can pick up Phi Zeta Cords from the ASA Office starting May 1. The cords are yours to keep.

Parking

For the campuswide commencement ceremony on Saturday, parking is available in many university lots around the stadium (excluding 24-hour rented parking spots). For the college convocation ceremony, parking is available in the Krannert Center parking garage and at bagged meters around Krannert Center. Diploma Information (Mailing Address and Name)

Because it is not possible to process grades and prepare degree lists by Commencement weekend, diplomas will be mailed by mid-July. The primary address that will be used to mail your diploma is the “Diploma Address.” If the diploma address is unavailable, it will be mailed to the “Mailing Address.” Students should check and update their “Diploma Address” through the link below:

Student Self-Service

Name Change: Information on changing your name to the version which will appear on your diploma and transcript can be found by following the link below.

Transcripts

Before ordering your transcripts, please check Student Self-Service to see if your degree has been posted. The first degree upload will occur Friday, May 24, 2024.
