Canine Thoracic Spine Example 1

The following radiographs are the left lateral and ventrodorsal views of the thoracic spine of a three-month-old Chesapeake Bay Retriever. The articular facet joint between the third and fourth lumbar vertebra is minimally narrowed compared to adjacent facet joint spaces. However, the thinning of the L3-4 facet joint space may be a normal finding in this patient as no other evidence of disease is present at this disc space. The left kidney is somewhat caudally positioned, however it is normally marginated and of normal size.
