Squamous cell carcinoma is one of the most common types of skin cancer in horses. However, when it appears in the third eyelid it may go unnoticed. Our veterinary ophthalmologists have found that it is especially common in horses with less pigment in their eyes, like Paints, Appaloosas, and some draft breeds.
