MVS Elective Track: Systems Health Management

The Systems Health Management elective track is a series of four advanced courses (16 credit hours) delivered in a hybrid format that requires in-person classes twice a semester.  To register for these courses, students must meet work experience and prior education requirements.  This advanced elective track is cohort-based with only spring admission. Program Objectives

  1. Alumni network established of like-minded veterinarians and animal health industry professionals.
  2. The four-course series is designed to develop a deep understanding of a systems-based approach to animal care and animal health using a problem-based approach to learning.
  3. Learners will be exposed to techniques and thought processes associated with data acquisition, data analysis, solution design and engineering, and process integration and evaluation for animal systems.

  • Professionals aiming to advance their careers take higher-level animal health, business, and data analytics courses.
  • The Systems Health Management track intended for students who desire to advance their careers, learn new business practices, and develop their critical thinking skills.
  • Systems Health Management is designed for individuals that have or hope to have leadership roles in systems-based food production and are focused on applying systems-based management to health and production improvement.
  • Approval must be gained to participate in this track
Learning Experience

The Systems Health Management elective track will meet over four semesters in a hybrid online residential format. The format is designed to have the benefits of learning from your classmates while creating new opportunities to use the knowledge and skills you learn to address real-world problems in group-based case studies between residential sessions.
