WELCOME TO THE LAU LAB!
We have keen interests in lung-bacterial pathogen interactions, specifically in the following areas: (i) modulation of airway mucus hypersecretion by respiratory pathogens in chronic lung diseases; (ii) interaction of bacterial pathogens with alveolar epithelium during lung infection; (iii) regulation of genetic transfer and virulence by Streptococcus pneumoniae competence regulon during lung infection; and (iv) collaborative efforts in the discovery of new antibacterials.
