On January 31 st , the Wildlife Medical Clinic successfully hosted its largest single fundraiser of the year, Wild Night Out. Wild Night Out (WNO) is a fun and interactive event open to our veterinary students and faculty. Wildlife Support Fund , a local non-profit organization, hosted this event on our behalf at Papa Del’s Pizza Factory in Champaign.
The event included pizza dinner, dessert, raffles, and a live and silent auction. In order to have great items to auction off and raise money for the clinic, every student volunteer at the Wildlife Medical Clinic recruited the help of a local business, family member, faculty, or a personal contact to ask for donations. Highlights from the night included Dr. Dennis French’s light-up tennis shoes and amazing auctioneer headset, Dr. Sam Sander’s presentation about the clinic changes and construction, and a seriously competitive bidding war between students for the opportunity to join three of their own professors on a pedal bike tour event in downtown Champaign.
This event was a great success for the Wildlife Medical Clinic. We had over 200 people
associated with the veterinary college attend and we raised thousands of dollars for the clinic. All proceeds will go towards care for our patients at the wildlife medical clinic and will hopefully help lead to their successful release.
Wild Night Out could not have taken place without generous donations from our clinicians, sponsors, and students and we thank them for their support and dedication. If you are interested in contributing to the Wildlife Medical Clinic, please visit our website for more information.
