Admitted Student Checklist
Review these steps to confirm your status and prepare for your program start date.

Accept Your Admission
Make sure you have officially accepted your admission.
How to submit your admission decision:
- Log in to your application portal using the same credentials you used when you applied.
- Navigate to the Application Status or Admitted Student page.
- Select “Reply to Offer” or “Submit Decision”.
- Choose accept and follow the prompts until you reach the confirmation screen.

Claim Your NetID
- Gather your UIN (9-digit University ID) and Activation Code from your Official Notice of Admission.
- Go to netidclaim.illinois.edu to claim your NetID.
- Set password recovery options and create your password at identity.uillinois.edu.
- Set up 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) at verify.uillinois.edu (required for most University systems).

Use Your Office 365 Email Account
- Log in through Outlook.
- Note: Access may take 4 hours after NetID activation, and full setup can take 12–48 hours.

Verify Personal Information in Student Self-Service
- Log into Student Self-Service using your NetID.
- Confirm / update:
- Local address
- Personal information
- You will also use this system for registration and billing.

Submit Transcripts & Academic Credentials
- Review your Official Notice of Admission for required documents.
- Check program instructions for how and where to submit transcripts, certificates, and translations.

Set Up Payment Options / Direct Deposit
- Visit the University Bursar website to set up payment methods and direct deposit.
- Remember:
- No paper bills are mailed.
- Bills are posted in Student Self-Service.
- International payments: paymybill.uillinois.edu/payments/InternationalPayments

Consider Getting an I-Card
- Optional for online students, but useful if coming to campus.
- Visit the i-card website for details.

Register for Classes
- Schedule an appointment with us for guidance.
- Register early in Self-Service and verify your schedule.
- Use Course Explorer to view available courses.
