Application Procedures & Addresses
Applicants for the
Internship Program must be in their senior year of the Professional program
in an American Veterinary Medical Association accredited school, or hold
a D.V.M., V.M.D., D.M.V., or equivalent degree from an American Veterinary
Medical Association accredited school. All applicants must be licensed
or able to be licensed by the start of the Internship Program in a state
or Canadian Province. Licensure in Illinois is encouraged.
Applicants for the Residency Program must have the Doctor of Veterinary
Medicine (D.V.M.) degree or its equivalent and have successfully completed
a one-year rotating internship or its equivalent.
Internships and Residencies are advertised each year at the American Association
of Veterinary Clinicians "Veterinary Internship and Residency Matching
Program" website (www.virmp.org/virmp/). Applicants for Internships
and Residencies must apply online at this web address.
The deadlines for receipt of completed applications are specified each
year at the Veterinary Internship and Residency Matching Program web site.
Application for admission to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Graduate College by successful Residency applicants will be undertaken
after formal notification of acceptance into the Residency Program.
