The Nature Conservancy (July 10) – Every spring for the past decade, Dr. Matt Allender has brought a team of researchers to survey Nachusa Grasslands’ ornate box turtle population. “There’s nobody who’s doing this kind of survey,” says Dr. Allender. “It informs ornate and eastern box turtle research overall. It’s such a good resource, even beyond the borders of Nachusa.”
