When Seizures Escalate: ACVIM Updates on Status Epilepticus and Cluster Seizures
Status epilepticus and cluster seizures represent true neurologic emergencies requiring rapid, evidence-based intervention. This lecture provides a practical, case-oriented update on the management of canine seizure emergencies, highlighting key recommendations from the ACVIM consensus statement.
Emphasis will be placed on treatment algorithms, drug selection and sequencing, and strategies for patients with refractory seizure activity. Attendees will leave with a clear, stepwise approach to stabilizing patients and optimizing both short- and long-term seizure control in clinical practice.
