  • Resume
  • Cover letter or Personal Statement explaining why you are interested in the certificate program and how it would assist you in your career goals.

Application Process

To apply for the CVS certificate, you need to fill out the University of Illinois NDG application.

This certificate is a non-degree-seeking certificate, which means you’ll be considered a University of Illinois graduate student, but you won’t be tied to a degree program. The NDG application will ask you to upload the program admission requirements, such as resume, cover letter, and unofficial transcripts. You can start and stop the application at any time. When creating your username and login on the NDG application system, make sure to keep this information safe. If you are accepted to the program, you’ll need to use the same password and username to register for courses.

Once you submit your application, it is routed to the admissions committee. The first round of admissions will take place April 15th, with rolling admission to follow until the maximum number of students (40) have been admitted.

Application Requirements for Submission

You must upload all required materials to the University of Illinois NDG application:

  • Unofficial transcripts from all colleges/universities attended
  • Resume
  • Cover Letter Academic Statement of Purpose
