Dr. Foreman is an Associate Professor of Management at Illinois State University and earned an MBA and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois. His doctoral studies were in Organizational Behavior, with concentrations in Strategic Management and Research Methods. His research focuses on issues of organizational identity, image, and reputation, and how organizations manage multiple identities. Much of his research has been conducted in the rural and agribusiness sectors, including ornamental horticulture, meatpacking, marketing and supply cooperatives, agricultural finance, and rural healthcare. Most recently he has been involved in a USDA-funded study of collective action in wine trails and cheese associations.

Born in Niagara Falls and raised in Atlanta, Peter graduated from University of Georgia and is a devoted Bulldogs fan. His wife Sue is a Nebraska Cornhusker and has been an elementary education teacher for over 25 years. They have three adult children and share their empty nest with two adorable Fox Red Labrador Retrievers, Ruby and Pepper. Peter has a fairly diverse set of personal interests and activities. He’s an avid downhill skier, aspiring hard-rock guitar player, novice pheasant hunter, and long-suffering golfer. He also enjoys hiking, cross-country skiing and other outdoor activities – preferably in the mountains – with Sue and the dogs. He and Sue are longtime foodies and enjoy cooking a wide array of cuisines, and Peter’s become a fairly competent mixologist, specializing in pre-Prohibition cocktails. As a wine enthusiast, his recent research on wine trails has been a very happy coincidence. Sue and Peter also love travelling, mostly to Europe (Italy and Ireland are favorites) and America’s National Parks.
