Gireesh Rajashekara — BVSc, MVSc, PhD

Associate Dean for Research and Advanced Studies

Gireesh Rajashekara serves as the Associate Dean for Research and Advanced Studies at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. In his capacity, he supports college research efforts and graduate studies. Prior to joining the college, Dr. Rajashekara served as an Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor at the Center for Food Animal Health, Departments of Veterinary Preventive Medicine and Animal Sciences at Wooster, The Ohio State University. Dr. Rajashekara has authored more than 150 publications and has been the major advisor for several PhD and Master students. His research is focused on solving animal health and zoonotic foodborne disease problems in food-producing animals using One Health approaches.
