After veterinary school and 3 years in private practice, Dr. Austin came to the University of Illinois to complete a Master of Science degree and a residency in equine internal medicine before becoming a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Dr. Austin joined the faculty of the University of Illinois in 2011 after a career in private practice splitting time between referral and ambulatory practice. He currently serves as the Chief of Staff of the Large Animal Hospital and is the director of residency training for the equine internal medicine program.
