Emily, a first-year student from Livonia, Mich., is passionate about a career with an impact on a large number of individuals. She is considering laboratory animal medicine, pathology, and neurology but remains open to all career paths.

Kaitlyn, a fourth-year student from Revere, Mass., wishes to pursue a career as a small animal orthopedic surgeon, beginning with a small animal rotating internship after graduation.

Hannah, a second-year student from Wildwood, Mo., is interested in production animal medicine (especially with dairy cattle), equine medicine, and theriogenology. She sees herself practicing ruminant and equine medicine in a rural community or possibly working in government public health or specializing in large animal theriogenology.

Amanda, a third-year student from Wheaton, Ill., plans a career in mixed animal medicine while also pursuing her passion for dog sledding and caring for racing sled dogs. In her fourth year of study, she will extern at the Yukon Quest International Sled Dog Race.
