Other Off-Campus Elective Rotations
Veterinary students can choose these off-campus rotations, if the rotations have been approved by the C&C Committee. Students are responsible for arranging these rotations and seeking approval of rotations that have not been previously approved.
Rotation requirements:
Students must submit an Off Campus Rotation Scheduling Form well in advance of leaving. If the rotation is not already approved by the Curriculum Committee, the student must submit a New Off Campus Rotation Approval Form to the ASA Office for review by the committee.
All Students must submit the OC Rotation Scheduling Form at least 6 weeks before leaving for the rotation to the ASA Office. During the rotation, you must complete a Rotation Case/Activity Log.
At the end of each 2-week block, the rotation supervisor must submit a Student Performance Evaluation to Karen Stahl in the VCM Office and the student must upload his/her Rotation Case/Activity Log into E*Value for review by the Curriculum Committee.
No more than 2 blocks (4 weeks) can be taken at a given site.
For OC International Rotations:
- Complete all of the OC rotation requirements listed above.
- Contact the ASA Office and arrange a meeting to discuss the proposed experience and campus requirements
- Contact Dr. Loukia Agapis (dlagapis@illinois.edu) to complete all requirements set by the University’s International Office (eg. International Insurance, US Department’s Step Program) and discuss study abroad scholarships that may be available (college scholarships require applications submitted 12 weeks to departure and submission of a student blog within 30 days or return)
- If this is a faculty led study abroad experience, students must also complete a pre-departure orientation
Students will only receive credit for an international rotation if: the rotation is approved by the Curriculum Committee; the student meets with Dr. Agapis and satisfies requirements of the University’s International Office; the student submits an acceptable case/activity log to the Curriculum Committee after returning to the College; and the student receives a passing grade from the rotation supervisor.
In order to take an off-campus rotation marked with an asterisk, the student MUST also take the similar UI rotation as a core, directive or elective rotation.
