Off-Campus Species Focused Rotations

The following off-campus species-focused (“specialized”, not primary care) rotations MUST BE APPROVED BY SPECIFIED FACULTY AT CVM AND SCHEDULED BY THE STUDENT. No more than 2 blocks can be taken at a given site. For species-focused rotations at Universities, see “Other OC Elective Rotations” section of this website.

You can run a Sites Report in E*Value to see where students have taken species-focused rotations.

In order to take a Focus Rotation in Beef Cattle Practice, you must get approval from Dr. Jim Lowe.

All Students must submit the OC Rotation Scheduling Form at least 6 weeks before leaving for the rotation to the ASA Office.

During the rotation, you must complete an Activity Checklist developed specifically for beef cattle practice (not a case log).

At the end of each 2-week block, the practitioner must send a Student Performance Evaluation to Karen Stahl in the VCM Office and you must upload your Activity Checklist into E*Value.

In order to take a Focus Rotation in Equine Practice, you must get approval from Dr. Scott Austin.

All Students must submit the OC Rotation Scheduling Form at least 6 weeks before leaving for the rotation to the ASA Office.

During the rotation, you must complete a Rotation Case/Activity Log.

At the end of each 2-week block, the practitioner must send a Student Performance Evaluation to Karen Stahl in the VCM Department Office and you must upload your Log into E*Value for the Curriculum Committee to review.

In order to take a Focus Rotation in Exotics Practice, you must get approval from Dr. Samantha Sander.

All Students must submit the OC Rotation Scheduling Form at least 6 weeks before leaving for the rotation to the ASA Office.

During the rotation, you must complete a Rotation Case/Activity Log.

At the end of each 2-week block, the practitioner must send a Student Performance Evaluation to Karen Stahl in the VCM Office and you must upload your Log into E*Value.
